Soon, the German tourists from a couple of compartments away wanted to join in on the action, so a few of 'em came on down to join the party.

So here you see my uncle sitting between Tatyana and Olia. These ladies were the two attendents (12 hour shifts) assigned to our compartment.

Here's Liza, the girl in the compartment next door, covering her ears. Why, because at that moment, Tatyana was singing loudly, drunkenly, in Russian ("actually, a very good voice for singing peasant songs" was how my uncle described it). But who are you going to call? In this case, the culprits were the authorities!

Bottle after bottle of vodka. There must have been eight dead soldiers in that train compartment by the time the night was over. My uncle did his fair share, believe me. Look at the Large image - you can see the sweat just pouring down his face, and you can read on the bottle where it says "The Water of Life." Well, if that's the case, then...Esto es Vivir!
