Helping long-time Bay Area homeowners make their next move their best one yet.

Sebastian "Seb" Frey is originally from Berkeley, California and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He moved to Santa Cruz in 1988 when he graduated from high school to attend the University of California at Santa Cruz. His first career was in Information Technology, which took him to live and work in such exotic places as Alaska, Malaysia, Bali, France, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and of course, all throughout Silicon Valley.

Seb got his real estate salesperson’s license in 2003, and since then he has continued to educate himself and improve his skills. In 2005, Seb obtained his Real Estate Broker’s license, and Seb also holds a number of Realtor designations, including GRI, CRS, and CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist).

Seb has traveled widely across the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia for both business and pleasure. Having visited or lived in over half the United States and more than 50 countries world-wide, Seb is convinced that Northern California and the greater San Francisco Bay Area region is not just a place to live and raise a family. He knows that it does, on balance, provide unparalleled opportunity for folks who live here to live the best life imaginable. This sentiment and conviction shine through in his work; he truly believes in the amazing value inherent in every property he represents.

Having been a real estate professional in the area for 20 some-odd years, Seb brings an unusually high level of skill and expertise to every transaction he’s a part of, having sold over 400 homes since earning his real estate license. In 2022, he was ranked as being in the top 1.5% of REALTORS nationwide by RealTrends. He has a passion for helping his clients get the best deal when buying or selling a home. He’s earned five star ratings on both Zillow, Google, and many other review sites.

Seb attributes his long and successful career to one thing: his clients. The truth is, the real estate business isn't about houses: it's about the people that live in them. Seb makes sure that each and every client knows that he'll do whatever it takes to make sure their interests are always put first and that they are fiercely represented.

As Seb always says: I'm not #1 - YOU ARE.

As a seller, it’s important to understand the things that often scare away potential buyers. And the #1 thing that scares them is an incorrectly priced home.

Pricing your home too high will (almost) inevitably result in a less desirable outcome, even in a seller’s market. But don’t worry, I have the expertise and strategies to help you competitively price your home and drive interest from potential buyers.

When you work with me, I’ll do a comprehensive walk-through of your property and ask you detailed questions about its condition. Then, we will analyze the current market and compare your home to similar ones that have recently sold in your neighborhood.

Our pricing strategies consider various factors, including comparable homes for sale in your neighborhood, recent home sale prices in your area, and local market trends specific to your zip code. We also consider the overall condition of your home and any repairs, upgrades, or improvements you’ve made.

While I will provide our expert guidance, the final say in the listing price of your home is ultimately yours. I will be there to support and encourage you every step of the way, as my goal is not only to sell your home but also to help you get the maximum return on your investment.

Do you have questions about home prices or want to know the value of your home? Don’t hesitate to reach out to me via direct message anytime! 📲 I am here to help!

Much like fashion, home design trends are constantly changing and evolving. Who would have thought that fanny packs would make a comeback as “belt bags” so soon?

Interestingly, the current trend in home design is moving away from trends altogether. Homeowners are now prioritizing functionality and customization when making design decisions. This means designing a space based on its intended use, rather than following a specific trend.

As I’ve heard from various sources, there are a multitude of home customization requests that have been gaining popularity, such as:

- Home offices equipped with studio-quality lighting perfect for those Zoom calls.
- Mudrooms with personalized buildouts tailored to meet the specific needs of each family.
- Built-in dog bowls complete with water spigots for your furry companions.
- Kitchen islands with adjustable heights, making them versatile for any use.
- Outdoor kitchens with all the bells and whistles, including running water, ice machines, refrigerators, and even outdoor pizza ovens.
- Amenities like a bar or home gym.

Now, if you had the opportunity to have one of these amazing customizations in your home, which would you choose? I am excited to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Let’s be honest, home inspectors sometimes miss things going on in your house.

A home inspector may not find all problems in a house because houses are complex and they cannot see everything during an inspection. It’s important to ask about these common home problems on inspection day:

1. ROOF PROBLEMS

Inspectors may not see serious roof issues from the ground. It’s best to have a professional check the roof before buying a house.

2. HEATING AND COOLING ISSUES

The inspector may not be able to turn on the air conditioning or heat, so have a technician check them before using them.

3. PLUMBING PROBLEMS

Even though the inspector will check the plumbing, there could still be issues like clogs or drainage problems. These can get expensive if not fixed right away.

4. MOLD AND WATER DAMAGE

Mold and water damage can be hidden, so it’s a good idea to get a separate mold inspection for older homes.

Home inspections are not perfect, but they are important. Inspectors may miss things, but they can also find big problems that could cost a lot of money later on. We trust our inspectors, but keep in mind that these are common areas of concern. If you have any questions about the inspection process, please let us know.
