Notice of Default – Online!

Notice of Default

A couple of days ago I made a posting about the guys from Rehablist.com who came to visit me. When they were over, they made mention of the fact that you can get a list of Notices of Default for properties here in Santa Cruz County, from the County’s web site. I had looked for such a list before, but I had not been able to find it. Yesterday, they sent me the URL to find notices-of-default on-line:

http://sccounty01.co.santa-cruz.ca.us/clerkrecorder/Asp/ORInquiry.asp

When you open that page and do a search, you need to search for Document Type “Notice of Default.” When you click on a link, you will be presented with the borrower and lender’s name – but not an address. Not sure how useful that is to you – there’s always the phone book, of course. I am able to look up property records to find what property someone owns, just by using their name – not sure how the public-at-large might do so, but if you can do it, this might be a useful tool for you!
